Just brilliant....

Bo Kaspers Orkester at Scandinavium....

Scandinavium, November 23

It's hard to define Bo Kaspers music due to the many influences ....but when they turn from jazz to electronic, the music becomes special.

Best in show: Utan dig

Metropolis and Göteborgs Symfoniker at Scandinavium....

Scandinavium, January, 29

Fritz Lang's restored and extended film with the missing scenes that were found in 2008 in Buenos Aires. Gustav Frölihch and Brigitte Helm are immortal in their roles. The original music played by Sweden's national orchestra (Maestro Frank Strobel) was the cherry to this absolute masterpiece....

David Bowie, 1947 - 2016

"The Outside Tour" at Scandinavium, January 20, 1996

In a few words....Bowie was a genius and his legacy is gigantic. Like the best, he invented and reinvented his music and career over six decades. I'll keep in memory the last time I saw Bowie live in January 1996 at the Scandinavium arena. Pity life does not have rewind buttons. We will miss you, David....

Depeche Mode at Scandinavium....

For a start....it took me 30 years to get these boys into my live "playlist" ! Depeche Mode live was far better than I ever expected. Gahan is an absolute scene master, a great singer....and indeed a good dancer. Some bands have passed their "best before date" after a few years....Depeche is still a fresh flood of impressions after three decades.

Best in show: Personal Jesus, I Feel You, Never Let Me Down Again, the video screen....and Dave Gahan

Deep Purple at Scandinavium....

 Scandinavium, December 10, 2011

Well.... “Made in Japan” was one of the first albums in my music collection. Deep Purple 40 years later....is just 40 years too late. Despite the energy provided by the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt and the fact that these guys are great musicians, this concert was a nostalgic trip to nowhere. Ian Gillam`s voice is just a shadow of the past, and sometimes he tends to sing dreadfully "inwards". I am glad he did not sing one of all time better rock songs; "Child in Time". Best in show...."Smoke on the water" !
One of the better ways to kill a rock concert is to have a seated audience....congratulations Live Nation.

Ian Paice, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Steve Morse, Don Airey

ZZ Top....

..top performers of rock-boogie-blues at Scandinavium, 22 October, 2010
.
A better concert than when I saw them last time in the same place, in October 1983 during the "Eliminator Tour".... and two of the boys have not aged one day in 27 years (!).
