We went to buy food....and found Fertilia !

Built in the late 30`s by the fascist government, Fertilia is like landing in a neo-realist film, where time has stood still. It is a shame that this village is allowed to decay to such a level, almost as if the present authorities are ashamed of their own history. Fertilia is an excellent example of rationalist architecture, and is in every aspect a precious historical document.
Found also a book about Fertilia: "Fertilia", 2007, by Eugenio Cocco

Life is so short....and death is so long. How was the other side, Jim ?

"Where the action is" at Slottsskogen, June 28. Coldplay, Glasvegas, Brandon Flowers and others....

Music festivals
are not really my "cup of tea". For a lot of good things, may give rise to indigestion....and there is almost no time between the main courses. It is not fun for an artist to play the last song, and see much of the audience rush to the next scene. But Slottsskogen is a lovely park, and the weather was the very best....

Something was missing this evening….don`t ask me what!              ff
I still have that concert at Stockholms Stadium back in August 2009….in my head. For some reason, I needed Fix You”….and I saw a little bird in the sky.

Nopreiro 2002-2011

Nopreiro was a wonderful bird and a faithful friend for 9 years. Now he is gone, but his vivacity and beautiful white/turquoise color will forever remind me of the sea in Sardinia. Fly little bird fly....

Porto Ferro reminds me of the beautiful Guincho Beach in Portugal. If you ever swim here on a windy day....be very careful with the sea currents.

Ringo and his All Starr Band at Liseberg....

Liseberg, June 12, 2011

This was about the closest I would ever get to "The Beatles". Musically, it was much like Madame Tussauds....with sound; and when Ringo sings "Yellow Submarine", I just get the urge to pull out the bottom plug.

Ringo Starr, Edgar Winter, Wally Palmar, Rick Derringer, Gary Wright, Richard Page and Graig Bissonnette

Bryan Ferry at Liseberg....

Liseberg, May 27, 2011

The last time I saw Bryan Ferry was on Mars 1977 at Scandinavium ....thirty-four years later, he started the concert on a low gear, but very soon we reached greater heights through his unique melodic ability. The band (?)....just excellent !

Best in show ....the whole show, "Slave to Love", "Avalon",
"All Along the Watchtower" ....and all the rest !

Welcome back soon Mr. Ferry !

Andy Newmark - drums
Colin Good – piano / keyboard
Ollie Thompson – guitar
Jerry Meehan – bass
Jorja Chalmers – keyboard / saxofon (how good was she !)
Tara Ferry – percussion
Chris Spedding - guitar (played as well in 1977)
Aleysha Gordon – song
Hannah Khemoh – song
Marie Rawlinson – dance
Jade Sullivan – dance

Mauritz Kaffe....

..en tvåa med rågbröd..

..35 years of patina...

.
I've been a costumer here since the late 70`s, and have never been disappointed. Mauritz was for many years one of the few places where one could enjoy good coffee - then came a stilted "coffee culture" with a bunch of fancy names.
Unfortunately, it appears that Mauritz must move away in the near future, because of a hefty rent increase. So if you are passing Fredsgatan 2 ... go in and order a "Tvåa med rågbröd" (double espresso and a round bread with Grevé cheese), listen to the music, and enjoy this unique environment. Believe me....it's worth every minute.
