Bryan Ferry at Usher Hall....

Edinburgh, May, 24

Another memorable concert with this gentleman. A good blend of Roxy Music, Ferry, and, of course, the "Dylanesque" songs. As usual, Ferry is supported by great musicians and the singing section with Fonzi Thornton in the front....is always special. The songs were performed as a "too short" version (pity !). Usher Hall was, by the way, a very pleasant place :)

Best in show: "Take A Chance With Me"....and all the rest.

Bryan Ferry - vocals & keyboards
Paul Beard - piano & keyboards
Jacob Quistgaard - lead guitar
Neil Hubbard - rhythm guitar
Luke Bullen - drums
Jimmy Sims - bass
Lucy Wilkins - violin
Jorja Chalmers - sax & keyboards
Fonzi Thornton - backing vocals
Bobbie Gordon - backing vocals
Rhianna Kenny - backing vocals
Nathalia Bonner - violin

Old-fashioned design....

The poor car industry was far behind in terms of design. Here at Weissenhof probably in the late 1920`s. The house is a work by Le Corbusier, 1927.

Intentioner....

Simple Minds at Lisebergshallen....

Göteborg, Mars, 16

By listening to the excellent double album "Live in the city of light" from 1987, one can get an idea about the kind of performances this band was able to put on in the past. Amazingly, the best songs came from their last album (Big Music), and when the band performed "Midnight Walking"....Simple Minds was back for a short while. Credit to Charlie Burchill and his totally relaxed, sparkling guitar. Mel Gaynor works hard as  "rhythm master", yet he looked a bit like a tired lorry driver in the beginning of the show. By the way, Jim Kerr - you need some exercise ! It may enhance your voice as well....

From the old songs, "Love Song" was the best.

Andy Gillespie - keyboards
Ged Grimes - bass
Sarah Brown - vocals
Catherine Anne Davies - gitarr / keyboards / vocals
